International Colloquium "Tax Evasion, Corruption and the Distortion of Justice" (19 de mayo 2023)

Dear all,

We are delighted to invite you to the first session of the International Colloquium entitled "Tax Evasion, Corruption and the Distortion of Justice." The event, which will take place on May 19th2023, at 3:30 pm BST on Zoom, has been organized following the publication of the Special Issue entitled “Tax Evasion, Corruption and the Distortion of Justice” in the journal Law and Contemporary Problems. The articles of the Special Issues, which focus on the interconnections between corrupt practices and tax abuses, have been inspired by the findings of the European Commission-funded research project VIRTEU (VAT fraud: Interdisciplinary Research on Tax Crimes in the European Union).

The International Colloquium has been organized by the Corporate Crime Observatory (CCO) in collaboration with Boston College Law School, Manchester Law School, and the University of Roehampton, and with the cooperation of the Italian School of the Judiciary, which has included both the event and the published articles among the training material for Italian judges and prosecutors.

Participation is free, subject to registration at the following link: https://mmu-ac-uk.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_nBM4DatiRAarKkbShqoSeQ.

The event will focus on the analysis of the impact of corruption and tax abuses on society, a very topical and interesting issue. International experts and university professors will discuss the aforementioned topics, followed by equally important interventions from representatives of the academic and legal world. In particular, the themes explored in four scientific articles included in the special issue "Tax Evasion, Corruption and the Distortion of Justice".

For further information, and to access the articles that will be discussed, please visit the official event website at the following address: www.corporatecrime.co.uk/tax-evasion-corruption-justice
